-
How effective is sun protection film?Sun protection films that are attached to the window reflect the sun's rays, which keeps the rooms cooler. With effective and high-quality sun protection films, the temperatures in the rooms can be reduced. The best results are achieved by applying the sun protection film to the outside. With older single-pane glass, window film such as sun protection film can be installed depending on technical possibilities or personal taste. Whether the film is installed inside or outside has no effect on the glass pane.
-
Do the films make the rooms darker? In practice, the changed lighting conditions are barely noticeable depending on the type of film, as the human eye adapts very quickly to the new conditions. In addition, depending on the tint, the films reduce glare, which is particularly pleasant for the eyes.

Sun protection film with cold protection in winterA special type of insulation film is one which, in addition to providing good heat protection, also provides insulation against the cold in winter. It reduces heat loss through windows in the cold season by reflecting infrared radiation in the room. This means that the air in the room cannot cool down as much on the cold window pane. This means that in addition to saving energy for cooling the rooms in summer, it is also possible to save energy by reducing the heating requirement in winter. This saves energy consumption and can reduce energy costs in two ways. Save up to 35% energy with insulating film for windows Insulating film for windows reduces heat loss in winter and lowers heating costs. This noticeably relieves the burden on your wallet and reduces CO2 emissions. Ideally, these cold-repellent window films are used on single or double glazing for thermal insulation, as this is where the efficiency is highest. The advantages at a glance Maintaining room temperature Reduction of heating costs Perceived cold near the window disappears Less condensation

The comparison: wallpaper vs. wall foilInstallation: The installation itself differs greatly. While wallpapering requires a variety of tools and a lot of space, applying wall foil is much quicker and less complicated. Robustness: Wall film is more robust than wallpaper. Sticking a poster onto the film with adhesive tape leaves no residue. Unsightly spots can certainly appear on the wallpaper. Washable: The waterproof surface of the adhesive film makes it easier to care for. It can be cleaned quickly and easily with a little water. Dismantling: Removing wallpaper is laborious and time-consuming. Wall film, on the other hand, can be removed in one piece.

For the full wrapping of a car, the costs are between 1800 and 5500 euros for (Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc.) The total costs, however, depend greatly on the area and shape. Does car foil cause damage to the paint? The adhesives, which are specially designed for car paint, do not attack the paint. Before applying the film, new paint or areas with repair paint must be allowed to dry thoroughly, otherwise a chemical reaction will permanently bond the film and paint together. In the case of old paint, the procedure is based on a small test film on a hidden area.

The film can be damaged in the car wash.A vehicle with a foil wrap may be driven through the car wash, but do not use hot wax.

How long does the foiling takeYour waiting time depends on the scope of the project: a partial wrapping is completed in one to two days, for a complete car wrapping, the car wrapping employees need five to seven working days.

Are boat foils seawater resistant?Films that are available specifically for wrapping boats are generally also resistant to seawater. However, special sealing should be applied to the edges and borders.
-
Boat foiling: costs and what they consist ofThe price of a boat wrap is influenced by many different factors. For example , complex shapes are more difficult to wrap than smooth surfaces. Less film is needed for small boats than for large ones, which reduces material costs. And then, of course, the price also depends on which film is actually being applied. Single-colored products tend to be cheaper than effect films . The costs are also cheaper if only individual stickers are applied to the boat instead of a full wrap. Either way, foiling is a cheap and quick alternative to painting the boat . For large-scale foiling, you should budget from 1,500 euros upwards - paint protection and a new look included.
-
How long does a boat foil last?High-quality films, so-called “wrapping films”, last at least 6-7 years, depending on the use. Manufacturers’ warranties usually range between 5-8 years.
-
The foiling process - how the boat is "foiled"Before you start applying the film, the surface must be treated. To achieve good results, the surface to be filmed must be smooth, without scratches, cracks and bumps. On poorly prepared surfaces, damaged areas and bumps become even more visible through the film. Everyone knows this from the protective films on smartphones: even the smallest grains of dust cause the film to be applied to an unclean surface, as the film builds up like a "tent" over it. The surface must therefore be smooth, clean and dust-free. Before the film is applied, special cleaning agents recommended by the manufacturers, so-called "surface cleaners", are used. Before the film is stuck on, a so-called "knifeless tape" is used along the later cut edges. This is a narrow adhesive strip that contains a fine cutting thread, often made of Kevlar. This thread is then used to cut the film cleanly and straight along the cut edges without having to use a cutter knife. The film is then aligned and cut to size using adhesive strips. The backing paper is then separated using a special cutting device and the film application process almost always begins in the middle of the hull from the inside out using a moistened squeegee. Modern films can even be removed and re-applied if there are small adhesive errors. A special structure of the adhesive surface minimizes the initial contact area of the adhesive and allows the applicator to reposition the film during application. This is made possible by the micro-replicated balls throughout the adhesive layer. They prevent the film from sticking when it hits the surface. The micro-replicated balls only activate the adhesive once the film has been satisfactorily positioned. The special adhesive surface structure also contains air channels that make it easy to remove air bubbles in the film using pressure because the air can escape to the outside. The edges are then cut with the knifeless tape and the remains are removed. Difficult areas such as fittings or thru-hulls are carefully cut with a cutter knife. This is followed by the application of edge protection coatings/sealings and protective films, e.g. in the bow or stern area.
-
How much does it cost to wrap a hull? The cost of a boat wrap depends on various factors. The condition of the surface to be wrapped and the resulting amount of preparatory work is often the deciding factor. Before the wrap is applied, the surface must be smooth and even, which can require many work steps and hours, especially on surfaces that are subject to heavy wear. The better the surface, the cheaper the wrap will be. Ultimately, however, the price also depends on the individual design requirements and the area to be covered with foil. Depending on the condition, a rough estimate for the freeboard of a 5-meter motorboat is between 1,200 and 1,500 euros (including foil).
-
Areas of application and possibilitiesThe most commonly foiled surface on boats is the hull. Some owners want a new color, others want to protect their gelcoat, and owners of older boats often choose foiling instead of painting the hull. Not only GRP can be foiled, but also boats made of steel, aluminum, carbon or even wood, as long as the surface is smooth. Boat owners are increasingly having other parts of the boat wrapped. Masts are popular and are often covered with a carbon-look film. But the cockpit and the superstructure can also be wrapped, embellished and protected in modern, high-quality films. Films are often a good way to beautify aging boats, not just on the outside but also below deck. Wooden furniture and parts do not have to be removed for the film to be applied and there is a large selection of different looks, structures and colors. Modern, high-quality films can also be shaped very strongly when heated, so that even difficult corners and edges can be covered with the film without cuts. This means that both the built-in components and the GRP surfaces, such as the ceiling or walls, can be given a new look and beautification with films.
